Art Hap’s Mission Statement

To provide a comprehensive, filterable and searchable database and map of NYC gallery exhibitions, openings, events, artists, and related data.

About Art Hap

Art Hap is a comprehensive database of current gallery exhibitions in New York, with select exhibition history. With hundreds of galleries of various types in New York, Art Hap seeks to create a centralized and consistent resource about what art is available to see where and when. We believe that it is the best kept secret in New York City that commercial galleries and exhibition spaces are free to visit, and we hope to leverage our knowledge and experience to make a complex system easier to navigate.

FAQs

What does Art Hap do?

We comprehensively compile our data in house, unlike any other resource, and offer the base of this information for free to the public. We currently exist as a weekly email newsletter which includes a Google Sheet and Google Map with information about what exhibitions are opening each week, along with selected events listings and suggested walking routes. You can sign up for our newsletter on our home page, www.arthap.com.

What kinds of exhibitions and events does Art Hap list?

We currently focus on gallery exhibitions that are free to visit, as well as free art related events such as artist talks, publication launches, and panel discussions. Exhibition openings are listed in our spreadsheet and map, which are accessible here on our website. Events are included in the body of the weekly newsletter, and on our events page.
